A winter city,
dark and numb
I run through the streets,
fast and free.
I suddenly feel alive.
Passing people by,
Wondering who they belong to,
Wondering if they are alone
I make up stories for the strangers I see.
Night time out and no one is afraid
No one cares about the wait
Gin n tonic, a casual convo
Cigarettes and coffee always taste great.
Losing concentration and focus
Holding on by a string
I want so much to be transported
Closing my eyes I can hear Dylan sing.
Soon I will be on a terrace in the Quarter
Or in a coffeeshop in the Village,
Painting like Pollack
Free like Skynard.
Living my life as legends have lived.
